What Forum280 Inc does
Mission
Our mission is to apply the innovative and disruptive thinking of Silicon Valley to help solve society's greatest challenges.Major societal challenges, when well understood, can be deconstructed, turned into actions, made accessible, and, with the use of technology, be addressed by people around the world working in concert to move us all ahead.Making ideas open, transparent, and accessible so that stakeholders can honestly, openly, and scalably address them. We want to work on the biggest challenges of our time with as many of the best minds and talents inclined to becoming policy entrepreneurs.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Program
The Hart Center for Public Service is created to promote this fundamental and critical value of American citizenship, embodying the ideals and goals fundamental to Gary Hart's lifetime work. The Center will facilitate both academic and practical dialog and action that renews citizen engagement in our society's most pressing issues, bring together those who are already public service innovators with new generations of citizens equally impassioned to make a difference. We are in discussion with a leading Colorado academic institution partner on this initiative. There will be both academic and hands-on training components to the Center. The central theme to be explored is why a republic, including the American Republic, requires civic duty and citizen participation to maintain that ideal.
The program described on its FY2023 Form 990-EZ.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $17k to $23k (+37%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of Forum280 Inc’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (77% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 3 of the last 6 reported years ran a deficit.
