01What it does

What Feral Cat Rescue Inc does

Mission

Feral Cat Rescue provides support for spay and neutering feral cats in St. Mary's County, Maryland. Expenses include spay, neutering, vaccination against rabies and distemper, micro chipping, parasite control both internal and external and feeding feral colonies. We support FCR foster families due to the economy, the families would not be able to foster. We provide shelters for cats and find barn homes when appropriate. By spay and neutering as many cats as we can we decrease the feral population in St. Mary's County and decrease the number of cats euthanized.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Feral Cat Rescue is dedicated to a humane solution for feral cats. We believe in humanely reducing the number of feral unwanted cats and abandoned cats without euthanasia. We support and recognize the value of feral cat caretakers. We advocate spaying and neutering as well as humane education of treatment of cats.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $10k → $91.

1 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 5% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $554 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
