01What it does

What Family Connection & Cis of Wash does

Mission

Our mission is for Washington County to be a collaborative community where all families and children have opportunities and resources to be healthy, successful, nurtured, educated, safe and self-sufficient while becoming moral, productive citizens.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Family Connection held community collaborative meetings quarterly to plan for events and share community resources. The organization also distributed drug awareness materials that inform the citizens of prescription misuse and the need to lock up medications to keep them out of the reach of children and teens. Ten repurposed newspaper boxes with new and used books were placed throughout the county in an effort to improve literacy. In addition, early literacy guides were distributed as a resource to educate parents on age-related skills and activities and to encourage interaction. A Teen Maze event was also presented in partnership with 15 local agencies, organizations and businesses to educate 200 high school students on teen pregnancy prevention, drinking and distracted driving.
