01What it does

What Family Connect of Wisconsin Inc does

Mission

Family connect of wisconsin uses careportal, a software platform, to connect social service caseworkers with church response teams to supply, basic needs to a family in cirisis with the goal of preventing the child from entering foster care. If the child has been removed from the family for safety reasons, family connect will support the foster family with a response team to help care for the child. We believe that every child deserves a strong family foundation to thrive. The church has the tools and relationships to mentor families in crisis.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. Family connect's network of 57 churches served 587 at-risk children, resulting in an economic impact of 159,000 of savings to the six counties participating. Churches are encouraged to continue a relationship with the family and invite them into the church community for mentorship in parenting, marriage conflicts, and addiction recovery. Children are invited into children and youth church programs to establish relationships and strengthen their belief systems to deal with the trauma they have experienced. A strong family foundation (biological or foster family) is the child's best opportunity to prevent incarceration, sex trafficking of young girls, and teenage pregnancies. Society benefits from lower costs and productive citizens.
