01What it does

What Edmondson Elementary School PTO does

Mission

To promote the welfare and overall education environment and experience for students at Edmondson Elementary School.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. To organize and manage various fundraising activities by raising funds and promoting volunteerism in order to enhance the overall educational environment for students, parents, and educators. The fundraising activities promote volunteerism in the community and stimulate the exchange of ideas between educators, parents, and the general public to benefit each child with the best educational experience possible. The PTO hosts themed fundraising events such as an annual carnival, book fair, spirit nights, and march madness. The PTO also raises funds by selling school supplies, school merchandise, grocery store cards, and hosting silent auctions. Proceeds from most fundraising activities go towards school supplies and equipment to benefit the classrooms, teachers, and athletic department. Other proceeds go towards student, parent, and teacher appreciation activities such as staff lunches, graduation celebrations, field days, and campus beautification projects.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 92% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of EDMONDSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

EDMONDSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO leans on a few funders — its largest provides 92% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

92% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund EDMONDSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2018 100% · 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

92% of EDMONDSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $300 that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Tennessee funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $3k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
