01What it does

What Desert Streams Ministry Inc does

Mission

Desert Streams Ministry is a faith based ministry that seeks to provide encouragement, care, and training for rural evangelical missionary families in Alaska, Canada, and globally. We seek to accomplish this by providing biblical care by regular communication, face-to-face visits, biblical counseling, hospitality, and practical service. We also provide connection for missionary families to other biblical resources. Our mission statement is that we exist to edify, encourage, enrich, and strengthen servants in ministry so they can remain faithfully committed to the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as effectively as possible for as long as possible. We creatively seek ways to do this through a variety of ministry models. We are pastoral care providers, shepherding the hearts and souls of God's people in accordance with I Thessalonians 5:14. Our priorities are global missionaries, pastors, mission organizational leaders, national church leaders, and their families.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. We are blessed to look back at what God has done through Desert Streams Ministry in 2025. We are so thankful to be able to travel again and visit missionaries on their fields of service. We traveled over 26,000 ministry miles on the road this year, as well as visiting missionaries by use of aviation. We were able to also help with buying and shipping supplies, as well as fish (over 1300!) and moose meat for missionaries in the villages. We have served by doing maintenance on vehicles, appliances, houses, helped with mission field conferences, provided child care, and so many other avenues of service. We are also very thankful for opportunities to provide counsel as we interact and serve the missionaries. We were able to host about 20 missionary families for "fish camp" where they can come dipnet for salmon to help fill their freezers. God provided over 1300 salmon for these different missionary families! In addition to the many face-to-face visits, we continue to connect with ministry families through email, text, phone calls, care packages, social media, and more. We were away from home doing ministry 90 days, and had missionaries overnight in our home for about 80 days - that is…

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of DESERT STREAMS MINISTRY INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of DESERT STREAMS MINISTRY INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $236 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
