Programs

  1. Train shows/exhibits: the club sponsors two to three train shows each year held at rented venues away from the club. Dsrc sponsored 3 shows in 2024 and 2025 and should continue to be the case in futured years. Vendors as well as the club display, demonstrate and sell tgheir wares to the public. Additionally, the club sponsored 3 saturday morning yard sales at the club which yielded sales of donated property to sustain operations and programs. Vendors are allowed to participate as well. Drrc sets up a travelling train layout at the shows for the enjoyment of attendees. Efforts are labor intensive and ptovided on a volunteer basis by members. Direct costs include primarily rent for the venue. The public benefits as we continue to expose the hobby to the pubklic inviting questions, comments and suggestions. This program is an extension of regular club operations. An estimate of volunteer labor to put on the shows is estimated at between 300 and 400 hours per event. The third show in 2025 took place over 3 days and was much more labor intensive at well over 1000 hours. Estimated direct and allocated occupancy and other related overhead for 2025 were $12,722.

  2. Public requests: the second major program this year was honoring specific requests from the public which included appearances at parades, displaying train layouts during holiday periods at libraries and other public events. The major effort is labor which is volunteered by members. Direct costs are minimal. We have travelling layouts for this purpose and one is a mounted on a float pulled by members' cars/trucks. When not in use, the displays are stored, housed and maintained at club facilities. Identifiable costs include a portion of occupancy and maintenance costs estimated at $12,093. These particular efforts benefit the punblic keeping the hobby in the forefront.

  3. Service to the public: one of our most important service programs is keeping our club open to the public as scheduled on wednesday and saturday (and other times by appointmeent). Visitors see the operating layouts in operation, interact with members, and seek advice and help on matters regarding the hobby. We have magazines and other publications generally free to the public. We also have layouts for children to operate and touch for their experimentation with trains. We get donations from visitors and new members. Over the years we have held classes for school-age groupsss on how to build a layout hands-on. The public can also bring their trains and equpment in for testing and troubleshooting.donations from estates and individuals of trains and equipment, layouts and collections are sold to generate revenues to sustain operations and programs. The club is open to members for cleaning, maintreance of layouts and all the chores necessary to keep the club open.this effort id labor intensive and all time is volunteered by members. The best estimate of costs include an allocation of occuoancy costs based on time spent and space occupied. Usually there are 12 or more members present on…

DELAWARE SEASIDE RAILROAD CLUB INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 77% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

77% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund DELAWARE SEASIDE RAILROAD CLUB INC.

Where its funders are

77% of DELAWARE SEASIDE RAILROAD CLUB INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $120 that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Delaware funders.

DE

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $395 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
