What DC Peers does
Mission
DC Peers' mission is to create social growth, connection, and learning opportunities that respect and affirm neurodiversity. In our free and low-cost programs for teens and adults, we bring neurodiverse groups together to socialize and to learn from each other about our differences, ourselves, and how autism and other neurological differences affect our interactions with each other. Our new drop-in community space is also offering a unique, neurodiversity-affirming "third place" to autistic and neurodivergent teens and adults.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
Teen Programs: Despite losing 3 months to our move and the delay in building out our new space, DC Peers ran free and low-cost social, gaming, and arts programs for neurodivergent teens, including Middle and High School Social Meetups, online Discord and Minecraft gaming groups, One-Day Movie Making, RPG One-Shots, and the teen Art & Neurodiversity program in partnership with the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Approximately 115 teens participated across 7 programs between September 2024 and June 2025. (See Schedule O, Statement 4.)

Approximately 175 adults participated across 12 programs. (See Schedule O, Statement 5.)

The space hosts in-person programs, drop-in hours for members, and a Community Committee made up of folks DC Peers serves. A new membership program (free and paid tiers) gives folks access to drop in to make things, play, connect, or rest. Approximately 50 people became members and 50 used the space during the fiscal year. (See Schedule O, Statement 6.)

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2018, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2018, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $29k to $137k (+374%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
72% of DC Peers’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (82% for the typical peer).
