01What it does

What Crudup-Ward Activity Center does

Mission

Founded in November 1996, the Crudup-Ward Activity Center (CWAC) is a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit establishment located at 630 Longview Street, Forest, Scott County, Mississippi. The CWAC was strategically built with a mission dedicated to offering assistance to low-income families, such as after school support, as well as summer feeding program for youths; promoting the development of parenting skills; promoting Welfare Reform Programs-such as for TANF clients that will increase family stability; implementing workshop programs that will help women entrepreneurs and others start or enhance their business; providing food pantry services to families in need; and improving family access to other resources such as single family housing's packager under the USDA-RD program. Since Covid, the organization has downsized the programs to mainly include food pantry services, assist small entrepreneurs with business plans and grant research, and has MOU as Packager for USDA-RD's single family housing.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2023 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

Through the years, Crudup-Ward Activity Center decreased services as funds decreased. In addition, once covid arrived, certain safety and sanitation duties increased especially for facility rental and food pantry services. However, advisory board activity continued to become also non functional.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of CRUDUP-WARD ACTIVITY CENTER’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 1 of 2 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of CRUDUP-WARD ACTIVITY CENTER's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $64k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
