01What it does

What Covenant Network of Presbyterians does

Mission

Confident in God's hopeful future and grateful for the ever-widening welcome of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Covenant Network of Presbyterians seeks an equity still not fully realized for LGBTQIA+ people in church and society by engaging, educating, and equipping the church. The Covenant Network of Presbyterians calls the church to bear a unified witness to generous hospitality and faithful justice.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Since our founding in 1997, we have worked for transformation in church and society. In 2025, we continued and expanded that work in new and exciting ways: (1) We inaugurated our new Covenant Fellows program, a cohort-based leadership development initiative designed to equip emerging leaders across the PC(USA) for sustained, effective LGBTQIA+ inclusion ministry. (2) We continued to expand our signature Covenant Conversation program, gathering cross-sections of congregations in partnership with presbyteries, bringing worship, training, and facilitated discussions. (3) We preached and taught in churches all over the country. (4) We produced resources, alone and in partnership with others, for congregations' use in expanding their welcome to people of diverse gender identities, enhancing their worship, and navigating difficult conversations. (5) We supported institutional efforts to seek justice and inclusion in ecclesiastical settings, including work with presbyteries and entities of the General Assembly. (6) We fielded urgent requests and calls for support from pastors, candidates, presbytery leaders, and denominational officials, all seeking our resources, wisdom, and experience.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Covenant Network of Presbyterians’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of Covenant Network of Presbyterians's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $341 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
