01What it does

What Community Healthcare Resources does

Mission

At Community HealthCare Resources Nonprofit our primary objective is the delivery of free health care services at no cost to the public. Our ten-year goal is to recruit the delivery of sixty million dollars in care to the public annually by 2030 and fully fund 500 clinics delivering pro-bono care to the public. To achieve this, we recruit doctors to independently deliver free and reduced fee care to the public in need. This keeps people healthy by delivering essential care early to address issues that left unattended worsen. By doing so, we help improve lives while reducing the burden on the safety net systems like unemployment, social security insurance, disability, and medicaid.

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Our primary objective is the delivery of free health care services at no cost to the public. We recruit clinicians to record and report education and health care that is delivered for free or reduced-fee to the public who demonstrates economic need. Primarily, we recruit medical, physical therapy, chiropractic, dental, mental health, and naturopaths. Each participant in the organization delivers approximately $2500 in value to the American public through the delivery of free and reduced fee health care services and education each month. Our programs delivered $1,551,922.84 in value via free care and education to the American public in the year 2023.

  3. Fundraising by employees to generate monetary resources needed to operate the organization. Each employee is given a small amount of fundraising responsibility, equivalent to less than 6% of their total time spent being allocated towards the task of fundraising. This is an essential portion of our nonprofit model and it covers all of the expenses for payroll, accounting, entity management, administrative pay, and all other expenses associated with the operation of the nonprofit. We achieved a near break-even point with this program in 2023.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 33% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE RESOURCES’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE RESOURCES leans on a few funders — its largest provides 67% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

33% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE RESOURCES.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Where its funders are

COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE RESOURCES draws 100% of its grant income from funders outside Iowa, across 1 state in all.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $5k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
