01What it does

What Collie Rescue League of New England Inc does

Mission

Collie rescue league of new england is dedicated to assisting the breed of dog known as the collie in the six new england states and new york. Our main focus is to find new homes for homeless collies in need. We use an extensive volunteer foster home (cont'd on schedule o) (continued from page 2, part iii mission statement) system and a thorough adoption application process to accomplish this purpose. We also offer educational and informational assistance to collie owners who contact us.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Assistance to collies who need homes including providing a temporary foster home, needed veterinary and other care and placement in a new permanent home. During this fiscal year, we started with 10 collies in our care. We took in an additional 31 collies and found new homes for 21 of them. 5 collies died of serious illness during this fiscal year after being lovingly cared for in a foster home. 15 collies remained in our foster care network at may 31, 2025. Our amazing volunteer foster homes take care of the collies entrusted to us and get them ready for their 'fur'ever homes.

  2. Mailing or emailing a newsletter to members providing general information about collies, upcoming events and activities, encouraging adoptions of collies, recruitment of volunteer foster homes, recruitment of other volunteers and providing information on how to make donations. We share collie history, adoption stories and provide information on how we do what we do as well as helpful articles on medical or behavioral issues.

  3. During this fiscal year, we assisted other collie rescues in the united states with donations and we paid veterinary expenses for collies whose owners were not able to afford expensive treatments and surgeries.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base broadened from 1 funder to 2 funders, grant income rose $330 → $852.

1 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 38% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of COLLIE RESCUE LEAGUE OF NEW ENGLAND INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

COLLIE RESCUE LEAGUE OF NEW ENGLAND INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 58% of grant income and the top three 98%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

38% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund COLLIE RESCUE LEAGUE OF NEW ENGLAND INC.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $2k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
