What Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations US does

Mission

Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations US ("cepi us") was organized for several purposes:(1) to educate the american public about the importance of developing vaccines to combat future global epidemics (see schedule o)and cepi's goals of coordinating the development of such vaccines;(2) to coordinate the efforts of cepi's partners that are located in the us, including private foundations, industry, trade associations, academic and research institutions, and other not-for-profits; and,(3) to advocate for support, including potential funding for cepi us by the u.s. Program

  1. In a world characterized by increasing population density, human mobility, and ecological change, emerging infectious diseases pose a real and growing threat to global health security. Epidemic diseases affect everybody, and do not respect borders. Vaccines are one of themost powerful tools in the fight to outsmart epidemics. Cepi us's mission is to stimulate and accelerate the development of vaccines against emerging infectious diseases and enable equitable access to these vaccines for affected populations during outbreaks. Cepi is an innovative global coalition of public, private, philanthropic, and civil society organizations, with whom we work in partnership. Close collaboration with global partners will be crucial to the success of cepis work to develop vaccines against emerging (see schedule o) infectious diseases. Therefore, cepi will support coordinating activities to improve our collective response to epidemics, strengthening capacity in countries at risk, and advancing the regulatory science that governs product development.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of COALITION FOR EPIDEMIC PREPAREDNESS INNOVATIONS US’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of COALITION FOR EPIDEMIC PREPAREDNESS INNOVATIONS US's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $100k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
