  3. Learn to Love to Read Project is a grant to enhance literacy through an enjoyable student choice reading experience and to create a reading culture on CISD campuses that increases student engagement with reading and builds lasting reading habits. To create awareness of the Learn to Love to Read initiative and to create excitement around literacy, CTEF purchased $25,000 of Scholastic books to give for free to all students attending various District events, such as PreK Saturday registration and campus STEM programs. CTEF also provided 5 CISD after-school programs with free library bundles. CTEF gifted two elementary PreK-5 campuses with an Inchy Book Vending Machine. Each campus created criteria for students to receive a gold coin to use in the vending machine. The novelty of visiting the vending machine is combined with a free book of their choice that they can keep. CTEF has committed to stocking the machines for the 2025-2026 school year.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of CHISHOLM TRAIL EDUCATION FOUNDATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of CHISHOLM TRAIL EDUCATION FOUNDATION's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $128 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
