01What it does

What Center for Evangelization and Discipleship Inc does

Mission

Center for evanglization and discipleship inc (cend) is a non-profit corporation working within the archdiocese of saint paul and minneapolis to serve the needs of young catholic families, adults, and professionals. Our mission is to empower young adult catholics to find, connect, and belong to an active life of discipleship in the church and to support the people who assist them along their journey.

As stated on its FY2022 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Msp catholic: this is a digital and social media hub created with the purpose of building community, educate, and inspire young catholic families and adults to integrate christ into their lives. The website currently has 850+ followers and continues to grow. There are so many amazing catholic things happening in the twin cities, but they aren't always easy to find. Msp catholic wants to change that by providing a centralized platform of information where young adult catholics can find what groups, parishes, and individuals are doing.

  2. Speaker series: cend hosted a series of events in which nationally renowned speakers were brought in to help bring awareness to the vision and purpose of cend.

  3. Small group formation program: this is a program with the purpose of inspiring small group formation to serve young adults and families within their parishes. Small groups can help aid young adult catholics in connecting and building friendships that can help grow spiritually in their faith through encouragement, accountability, support and prayer.cend's small group formation program has created a pilot parish program with five parishes in alliance with real life catholic (rlc). We are using rlc's educational and spiritual materials as a foundation to start and form these small groups. Cend will work with the local parishes to initiate the groups and coordinate the group formation, as well as work with both rlc and each pilot parish to define the activities that will aid in bringing rlc into the spiritual and community life of the parish. Cend will also help develop a scalable system for small group growth at the parish level.through this program, cend wants to create a channel where parishes can have access to other cend services such as msp catholic, cend young adult professional events, speakers and mentorship programs as well as other networking opportunities.
