Programs
Enable local artists to participate at no cost in exhibits sponsored by Cass Area Artists at the cass county regional gallery in cassopolis, michigan. These exhibits feature analysis of artists work by the judge, who is selected as the authority on art and interpretation, providing artists with solid helpful and positive commentary on their work. The free nature of this opportunity to have their work evaluated, to receive an award, to meet 50 or more artists and chat and learn from them and validate their talent is especially relevant in terms of under served areas in the arts.

$2,447 spentof which $225 as grants48% of program spendingOur total membership for 2025 increased to 44. To help assist our members and attract more artists and would be artists we changed our monthly meeting agendas to enable members to bring work in progress or finished work to the meetings to be presented and discussed. Many of our new members joined because they had discovered that we offer members a welcoming interest in their work and their progress encouraging artists of all ages to participate. We take the time to interact with beginners and help them with the basics of showing their art and give them the acceptance and information that they want and need. We also keep an eye on all upcoming opportunities and publish contact information and links to upcoming events in our meeting minutes which are emailed to all members. As a result our members are becoming more expert at taking advantage of these opportunities. We also have programs at our meetings which cover the gamut of helpful books to studies of published artists styles to show how to best take photos of their work. Thanks to the support of the local library we are able to do all of this in a huge room with audio-visual setup at no cost.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2022, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2022, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $4k to $8k (+93%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
86% of CASS AREA ARTISTS’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (78% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 0 of the last 4 reported years ran a deficit.
Who funds it, year by year
2022 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $7 → $35.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of CASS AREA ARTISTS’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of CASS AREA ARTISTS's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $42 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
