What Carters Compassionate Transitional & Supportive Housing does

Mission

Hagar's house is a safe haven for women and children who are homeless due to domestic violence or human trafficking. We help women become economically empowered and self-sufficient by providing them with temporary housing and relevant supportive services.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. Hagar's house is a safe haven for women and children who are homeless due to domestic violence or human trafficking. In addition to housing, our women are given job training, access to legal counsel, licensed professional counseling for themselves and their children, as well as a list of skills that will help them to live on their own and raise their children responsibly without assistance. We focus on family, recovery, addiction, abuse, anxiety, ptsd, trauma, and anger and stress management. We seek to provide our clients with the tools needed to find independence and wholeness.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $12k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
