Program
We are a tallahassee-based, local professional membership organization for physicians, representing more than 606 licensed physician members who live and work in leon, gadsden, jefferson, and wakulla counties. Capital medical society (cms) offers a variety of services to both its members and to the public.the primary focus of the cms is physician advocacy and support. Cms is affiliated with the florida medical association, the largest, most effective organization representing the interests of all florida physicians and their patients.our members include physicians (both md and do), resident physicians, and medical students. Our members are involved with all issues and dynamics that surround medical care, such as legal, legislative, regulatory, public health, media relations, and continuing medical education. We offer membership meetings to network with colleagues and stay current with issues in medicine today. The meetings also offer cme programs required for licensure.
The program described on its FY2024 Form 990.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2023 to 2024, from $203k to $156k (−23%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2022 5%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 6 of the last 8 reported years ran a deficit.
