01What it does

What Calebs Closet does

Mission

At caleb's closet, we love and support those coming into care, as well as those providing foster care. We provide children in foster care with free clothing, toys, personal care products, baby items, and other essential needs. When children enter foster care, they often arrive at their new homes with only the clothing on their backs. We provide these children with a new duffel bag or suitcase filled with clothing, basic essentials and other comfort items, thereby sending these children a message that they are valued and cared for by our community.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. In 2025, caleb's closet continued to meet the growing needs of children in foster care and their caregivers. During the year, we fulfilled 904 clothing and resource orders, including 381 first-time orders for children newly entering foster care. Each order provided essential clothing, shoes, personal care items, and other necessities to help children transition into safe and stable environments. We also served 958 children through six special events, including christmas, easter, halloween, back-to-school, and toy giveaway programs, and celebrated 161 birthdays through our birthday program. In addition, we provided 24 cribs, 8 toddler beds, 20 pack-n-plays, 60 car seats, 246 coats, more than 150 new backpacks, and thousands of clothing items and basic necessities. To better serve our community, we expanded our facility by an additional 1,000 square feet, creating dedicated volunteer space and increasing our capacity to serve children efficiently. Caleb's closet remains a 100% volunteer-run organization with no paid staff. More than 650 volunteer hours were contributed in 2025, demonstrating our community's commitment to supporting children and families impacted by foster care.

1 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 2% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of CALEBS CLOSET’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $819 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

These figures are read directly from IRS Form 990 / 990-PF e-file XML: this organization’s own return for FY2025 (financials across 2022–2025), and the filings of 4 funders that report grants to it. “On record” means captured in the filings we have parsed — a funder that does not e-file, or whose grant detail is not itemized, will not appear. Filings run roughly 12–24 months behind. Trends on this page end at FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving; later years are shown and marked, and move no figure.
