Mission

The mission of son valley is to build and operate a quality christian community for adults with intellectual disabilities, ministering to their physical, spiritual, mental, vocational and recreational needs.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Intermediate care facility:son valley operates the only private, christian, intermediate care facility intellectual and developmental disabilities (icfidd) in the state of mississippi. The organization has two group homes located on 80 acres of donated land in madison county, just outside of canton. In 2023, the two homes had 20 residents. The residents help with duties around the house such as making beds; washing, drying and folding clothes; helping cook meals; setting the table; and cleaning up after meals. They also have a large television in the living room where they can hang out and watch their favorite programs. The pavilion serves as a place for watermelon seed spitting contests, arts and crafts center, special cookouts, and even as a trike riding facility. The residents especially enjoy shooting hoops when the weather permits.

Morning activity is a time of bible reading, prayer, and singing. The residents and patrons are very sincere about worship and praying for each other as well as others. If someone has a need and a resident or patron knows about it, that need is mentioned as a prayer request. There is an ongoing education portfolio for each resident and patron. Residents and patrons are actively taught various vocational skills to better prepare them for an actual community job. These skills are learned through teaching and practice. They include sorting, stocking, janitorial, folding, and identifying to name a few. The organization works diligently to help residents and patrons find employment in the community. 1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of BAPTIST HOMES INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of BAPTIST HOMES INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $40 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
