The society works to restore the building by pursuing funding for, and overseeing the historically-accurate restoration of, the historic 1902 u.s. Life-saving service station at amagansett. The structure, and the land upon which it stands, is owned by the town of east hampton. The society is a nonprofit 501(c(3) corporation domiciled in the state of new york. The proposed nonprofit corporation plans to raise funds to complete the restoration of the life-saving station. The coporation will enter into a management agreement with the town of east hampton and take responsibility for controlling the uses to which the building wil be put.
