What Alliance of New York State Ymcas Inc does

Mission

The alliance of new york state ymcas supports and advocates on behalf of its member associations to strengthen and leverage their collective impact, enabling all ymcas to be safe, relevant, and operationally sound.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. The alliance serves member ymcas by actively advocating, and functioning as a resource for ymcas in the four strategic objects of: public policy and external relations; public funding and financial resources; member services; and statewide collaborations. Our association links the ambition of advocacy and public policy ingenuity with sound resources and tradition. Statewide ymca collaboration benefits all ymcas across the empire state by providing a cohesive and unified structure, established to preserve and enhance the ymca mission. The goal of the alliance is to sustain and enhance the ymca through public policy initiatives, communications, effective programming and member services. The guiding principles of the alliance are to: represent, serve and advocate for the ymcas in new york state; provide a statewide entity that unifies ymcas and enhances communications; act as ymcas' resource for government related programs, standards, laws and regulations; and network and collaborate with likeminded statewide organizations and youth advocacy groups.
