01What it does

What Alaska State Elks Major Project Inc does

Mission

Mission Statement:To provide a fun and safe Alaskan camping experience while sharing the values of pride in America and community support.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

On its FY2023 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

The Board of Trustees is currently in the process of seeking to sell the youth camp and close down the Major Project. At such time a sale is completed the Board intends to liquidate the Alaska State Elks Association MajorProject, Inc. and transfer all assets to another 501(c)(3).

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Youth camp: provides a summer experience for youth ages 9-13 with normally 100 girls and 100 boys each attending for one week during the summer months. All expenses are paid by the organization for camping and transportation from anywhere in the state. The camp is also made available for other organizations to use during the summer months. Winter time activities are scheduled weather permitting with cross country skiing, snow machining and other outdoor activities.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Alaska State Elks Major Project Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of Alaska State Elks Major Project Inc's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $259 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
