What African Blackwood Conservation Project does

Mission

A) Tree Conservation: The ABCP conservation program aims to supply: 1) tree seedlings for the long term conservation of rare and threatened species, particularly African blackwood; b) seedlings for remediation of the tree cover on Mt. Kilimanjaro, which is a vital watershed for a large surrounding area;3) tree species for domestic use to improve the living standards of the people who live in the area. B) Environmental Education: The ABCP carries on educational programs to teach the local populace about the long term importance of these activities.

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990-EZ.

The selected species are used for land remediation, preservation of indigenous and threatened species and trees to be used for their domestic value, i.e., fuelwood and fruit trees as well as species used for their medicinal value.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of AFRICAN BLACKWOOD CONSERVATION PROJECT’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of AFRICAN BLACKWOOD CONSERVATION PROJECT's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $403 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
