Funders to approach for Valor Healing Farms

Valor Healing Farms has been created to serve the military community including veterans, active duty, caregivers, families and first responders.Through farming internships, therapeutic horticulture, sustainable gardening, animal-assisted therapy and Nature, VHF programs are designed to benefit participants in meaningful and lasting ways. Our mission is to promote mind/body well-being, mental and emotional balance, self-care skills, life skills, career opportunities, stress reduction, recovery from PTSD, and suicide prevention. We use several local farms in Ojai/Ventura County. Our long-term goal is to find a piece of land in the same area to be our permanent home. This space will be dedicated to providing participants with first-hand learning experiences that will show them: 1) how healing and growth can be found through connections to nature, gardening, animals, and healthy, nurturing experiences with other people; and, 2) how they can bring those therapeutic activities into their…
