Primary Purpose: Our mission is to welcome refugees and asylum seekers into our community with dignity and love, and foster inclusive communities that celebrate the rich heritage and gifts that immigrants and citizens have to share with one another. One World One Love provides immigrant newcomers with basic needs assistance, English instruction, job-readiness support, enrichment activities, financial aid for education, cultural orientation, and youth programming. This effort is possible because of more than 2,000 supporters who make in-kind and financial donations, and the dedication of over 250 volunteers. In 2025, we opened our first office in Elizabeth, NJ, and supported 342 refugees - men, women and children - from 17 countries. Many received services across several of our programs. Program Service: Basic Needs: In 2025, One World One Love provided 99 individuals with furniture, housewares, and personal care items. We delivered 31 donated bicycles to adult refugees and provided clothes to hundreds of immigrant newcomers at a monthly resource center organized by social service agencies in Elizabeth, NJ. Program Service: Economic Empowerment: Through our Empower program, 42 families received English instruction, employment support and digital literacy training. We helped newcomers write resumes, apply for jobs, attend job fairs, research training opportunities, and practice English for job readiness. We launched in-person English classes and a volunteer-powered conversation club. We awarded $5,810 in scholarships to 14 refugees - 8 women, 6 men - for driving school, professional certifications and job-related expenses. Program Service: Youth and Teens: Through community partnerships, we secured scholarships for 6 children from 3 families to attend summer camp for free. Our volunteers provided transportation to/from camp. In 2025, we continued our teen service club for refugee youth and U.S.-born teens in collaboration with the International Rescue Committee. The club completed four community-service projects, each attended by 25-30 high school students. Volunteers also delivered Eid presents to 38 refugee children celebrating their first Eid in…
