What Yun International Music Foundation does
Mission
Conduct master classes and other piano educational activities featuring world renowned pedagogues, piano recitals, concerts, and educational activities open to the public. Sponsor of piano competition.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Program
The Yun International Music Foundation conducts programs that provide advanced piano master classes, recital opportunities, public concerts, and career guidance to advanced piano students located throughout the world. The foundation operates the philadelphia young pianists' academy (pypa) as its operating entity. Through pypa, the foundation conducts an annual festival in the city of philadelphia and a program for advanced master class students - the young virtuosi. Both the festival and young virtuosi offer advanced piano students opportunities to attend master classes offered by renowned pianists and piano pedagogues as a means to assist these students in achieving solo performing careers. As part of the foundation programs supporting the piano students, the public is invited to attend performances (live and virtual) featuring the pypastudents and the faculty.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $11k to $51k (+380%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
25% of YUN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FOUNDATION’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (64% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 1 of the last 6 reported years ran a deficit.
