01What it does

What Weston Music Society Inc does

Mission

Promoting and supporting live concerts and performing arts education locally.

As stated on its FY2026 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. WMS offered two series of in-school discovery and interactive concerts for six local elementary schools in collaboration with the Symphony of the Americas. These concerts conducted in full assemblies engage all students in each school. The aim is to familiarize young students with various instruments in a traditional orchestra and their significance in different music genres they encounter. Additionally the program seeks to cultivate their interest in music programs as they progress to middle and high school.

  2. WMS awards scholarships to high school seniors pursuing music or performing arts in higher education. WMS partners with local high school arts teachers to recognize students with exceptional musical talent. A ceremony at City Hall and media recognition celebrate the recipients. WMS stays in touch with scholars to aid their progress. Due to delayed check cashing this year expenses will reflect on next years tax return.

$0 spentof which $3,900 as grants
  3. WMS supports two middle school and two high school band programs through annual grant donations for beginner instrument fittings and instrument maintenance costs. WMS builds strong relationships with these programs and local triM Music Honors Society chapters to sustain music education for students and families in the community.

Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
