What Wayzata Yacht Club does
Mission
The purpose of wyc is to promote and develop active and competitive sailboat racing, through which proficient seamanship and sportsmanship are practiced, promoted and encouraged. Wyc also seeks to provide educational seminars and practical application of learned skills.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
The Wayzata Yacht Club (wyc) oversees one of the largest sailboat racing programs in the united states. Our lake minnetonka racing programs include over 65 keel boat races each season, conducted primarily in 22-25' keelboats, with participation of up to 130 boats for evening races. The Wayzata Yacht Club also sponsors racing in the apostle islands of lake superior via our apostle islands station (ais) in bayfield, wi. This big boat schedule includes both buoy racing and off-shore sailing with boats that compete throughout the great lakes.
Seminars are presented for adult and youth sailors to make available continued sailing education and experiences.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $1.5M to $1.6M (+8%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 3 of the last 9 reported years ran a deficit.

Leadership and staff
The officers, directors, trustees and key employees listed on each return. Joined and no longer listed compare each filing with the year before, matching people by surname and first initial; a year after a gap, or a roster under three people, has no comparison.
