01What it does

What Village Thrift Shop Inc does

Mission

To accept and resell donated goods and to focus on recycling through sale or proper disposal of unwanted or unneeded items. Net profits from sales are used to support area non-profits.

As stated on its FY2026 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2025 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

Village Thrift Shop ceased operations of the thrift shop as of 2/28/26 and sold all shop assets and inventory to the new operator, Crossroads Ministry of Estes Park, another non-profit entity. Village Thrift Shop will continue funding area non-profits until all existing funds are permanently dispersed at which time the corporation will dissolve.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Donated goods worth $306,007 were sold in the Thrift Shop. Accumulated profits allowed the organization to award grants to 22 area non-profit organizations totaling $246,000 in the fiscal year 2025 (year-ending 3/31/26). In addition, many other donated unwanted items were disposed of through other non-profits (such as Goodwill and Salvation Army) and through recycling efforts, thus diverting these items from being landfilled.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of VILLAGE THRIFT SHOP INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of VILLAGE THRIFT SHOP INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $18k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
