01What it does

What Vermont Shakespeare Festival Inc does

Mission

Inspired by the work and spirit of Shakespeare, we produce theater of excellent artistic quality that enhances the cultural life of Vermont and the region. We achieve our mission through an integrated summer season of training, education, and performance.

As stated on its FY2018 Form 990-EZ.

Program

Summer production of The Taming of the Shrew performed at Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, Champlain College in Burlington, and Shelburne Museum in Shelburne with a total of 1,300 in attendance. There were 12 local Vermont artists involved in the project, including two area college students in the cast. We had a paid Internship Program for 8 local students. The students worked closely with the creative team in all aspects of theatrical design (set building, costume design, prop design, and technical design), and worked with the directing and stage management team to implement the show. Participants also worked box office, marketing, company management, community outreach, front of house, and backstage.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.

Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
