01What it does

What Vermont Brewers Association Inc does

Mission

The Vermont Brewers Association was founded in 1995 to promote and strengthen the culture of craft brewing in Vermont through marketing, education, and advocacy for Vermont made beer.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. The vt craft brewing industry has an estimated economic impact of 460 million and supports 2,764 jobs. Current membership size is 57, with 15.4 breweries per 100,000 21+ residents (ranks 1 in the nation) producing 353,032 barrels of craft beer annually. We have 5 active committees focused on executing our strategic plan in the areas of advocacy, marketing, education, sustainability, and diversity equity and inclusion. The vermont brewers festival in burlington has been running for 32 years and is one of the premier beer festivals in the world attracting over 6,000 people and is the major fundraiser for the vba.

  2. Our technical and education committee's goal is to provide education and training to member brewers with the goal of improving and maintaining the highest quality standard of beer brewed in vermont. We have 1 technical and educational day a year planned by the committee and host the annual vermont craft brewers conference in november which is a 2 day educational event focusing on resilience, technical brewing, and business development.

  3. We continue to broaden our online store capabilities. The store's mobile- friendly functionality enables vba staff to take merchandise to breweries and festivals statewide, supporting in-person and online sales. This new platform helped increase merchandise revenue to 21,955 and allowed continued support of our vermont brewery challenge passport program (both digital and paper), through which we provide free branded merchandise as incentives for participants.
