Mission

The mission of the cole preston foundation is to feed humanity through sustainable organic gardening. Our projects focus on creating community gardens with local participation, and distributing the produce to those in need. Our goal is not only to donate healthy food, but also to teach sustainable gardening skills which can, and do, make an ongoing difference in peoples lives. The traditional donation of cans and packaged foods to the poor is, of course, a noble cause, but cole had a higher vision of providing healthy foods, and teaching the skills to grow these foods in ones own backyard. The cole preston foundation strives to have a significant impact on fighting hunger in every community.

As stated on its FY2017 Form 990-EZ.

Program

We are proud to partner with the palm beach county food bank to help meet the basic needs of children and families in our community. The palm beach county food bank is a driving force behind our local hunger relief system, supporting more than 140 partner agencies with food, programs, and services. The food they distribute reaches nearly 100,000 hungry residents. The cole preston foundation contributes to the palm beach county food banks food recovery & distribution program, making regular deliveries of fresh produce, including a variety of greens, tomatoes, peppers, okra, carrots, cabbage, eggplant, beets, radishes, onions, papayas and herbs. Up to 50% of the food distributed by the palm beach county food bank is received from the local agricultural community.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of THE COLE PRESTON FOUNDATION INC BAYLINSON’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of THE COLE PRESTON FOUNDATION INC BAYLINSON's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $9k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
