01What it does

What Texas Doctors for Social Responsibility does

Mission

Texas Doctors for Social Responsibility's mission is to lead physicians and local communities in our State as they advocate for a fair and affordable healthcare system and for the prevention of gun violence through public safety measures and common-sense legislation.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Texas Doctors for Social Responsibility (TDSR) organized and hosted 2, gun violence prevention (GVP) forums in 2024, to raise awareness of the humane cost of gun violence in Texas communities, and how it can be prevented by educating the public on responsible and secure firearm storage and to urge Texas legislators to support common-sense legislation aimed to keep firearms away from children and individuals at risk of harming themselves and others. The first GVP forum was held in El Paso on March 23, 2024, and the second GVP forum was held in Austin at the Texas Capitol on September 27, 2025. Forty-five people attended the forum in El Paso, and 150 attended the forum in Austin.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of TEXAS DOCTORS FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $10k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
