Mission
Swedish Council of America promotes knowledge and appreciation of swedish heritage and culture in north american life and strengthens contemporary cultural and educational ties between north america and sweden.
As stated on its FY2020 Form 990.
Program
Sca grants: since 1975, sca provided financial support to hundreds of projects across north america as they promoted knowledge and appreciation of swedish heritage and culture. To date, these grants total over one million dollars.sca scholarships: almost since its inception over 40 years ago, sca scholarships supported american youth wanting to broaden their educational experience in sweden and swedish students eager to study in the united states.sca awards: sca awards gave national recognition to hard-working individuals and dedicated organizations that have made exceptional contributions to swedish-american or swedish-canadian life.sca communications: sca today, our quarterly magazine launched in 2017, informed our members, supporters and constituents about the projects we funded, the scholars we supported, the leaders we recognized, the opportunities we presented and the people involved in an informative and interesting manner. In addition, it contained articles about swedish culture and heritage of interest to our readers in north america.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $48k to $0 (−100%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 2 of the last 4 reported years ran a deficit.

Leadership and staff
The officers, directors, trustees and key employees listed on each return. Joined and no longer listed compare each filing with the year before, matching people by surname and first initial; a year after a gap, or a roster under three people, has no comparison.
