What Statewide Educational Organizing Committee Inc does

Mission

The mission of the Statewide Educational Organization Committee, Inc. (SEOC)is to bring together and organize public school parents and community members in low-income cities in New Jersey that have struggling school districts. We work together to identify common problems in the school system and develop and improve educational outcomes for children by organizing public school parents, family members, guardians, youth, and community members to advocate, take action together, and contribute to educational equality.

As stated on its FY2021 Form 990-EZ.

Program

Asbury Park Chapter: The chapter successfully challenged the dysfunctional system of discipling that was resulting in very high rates of suspension beginning with first graders. A new, more student friendly policy that has decrease "PUSH OUTX and increased student achievement has been implemented by the chapter. This chapter also recently won their safety campaign, requesting courtesy bussing for elementary school children that must cross at least two major intersections without adequate crossing guards.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.

Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
