01What it does

What Space-Ship Inc does

Mission

Promoting art and educating the public by providing short term gallery spaces for emerging and marginalized artists.

As stated on its FY2021 Form 990.

Program

Space-Ship Inc was dissolved on march 16, 2020 and ceased activites in 2021.prior to the dissolution the organization promoted art and educated the public by providing short term gallery spaces for marginalized artists, giving them a platform to engage with and market to a myriad of communities that might not ever see or experience their artwork otherwise. The corporation and its community also provided a digital platform for up-and-coming artists to exhibit work and exchange ideas. Through the corporation's installations, programming, and educational initiatives, it engaged local communities: its larger goal being to create genuine connectivity between individuals and groups, facilitating conversations spanning different upbringings, backgrounds, and perspectives.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990, which lists programs largest first by expense.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 7% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $6k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
