01What it does

What Sound Circle Center for Arts and Anthroposophy does

Mission

To train adults in the methods and philosophy of Waldorf Education, to graduate teachers to supply the growing needs of Waldorf Schools, and to provide adult education based on the principles of Anthroposophy and Waldorf Education.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2024 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.

A satellite teacher training program was started for teachers at Hawaii Waldorf Schools.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

  1. TEACHER TRAINING This program introduces adults wishing to be Waldorf Teachers to the spirit and methodologies of Waldorf Education. It involves individual study, group work, practical experience in Waldorf classrooms (under the guidance of an experienced teacher) and with supervisory visits from Sound Circle teachers, and a deepening practice of a wide range of arts. There is an Early Childhood program which is a recently introduced program for already practicing Early Childhood Teachers working Waldorf affiliated or Waldorf Inspired preschools. It follows much the same type of curriculum as the teacher training program outlined directly above, however it is geared to teachers who are working with younger grades and who need instruction in child development, curriculum, activities and arts appropriate to the young child. This year an additional satellite training program was started for teachers at Hawaii Waldorf Schools.
