What San Diego International Sister Cities Association does

Mission

Our mission is to guide the development of proposed Sister City relationships, thereby strengthening their missions in the areas of cultural, educational, economic, and humanitarian relationships.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. The Cervantes Festival in Balboa Park brings together students, instructors, and community members to read excerpts from Don Quijote de la Mancha and celebrate our sister citys native son, Miguel de Cervantes. Leading up to the event, our society visits local classrooms and invites students to contribute artwork for the Festival poster. The community then joins us for a day of Spanish music, dance, and food in celebration of Alcal and Spanish culture.
