What Refined by Fire Ministries does
Mission
Partnering with corrections facilities, community-based and faith-based organizations to provide educational services to assist in expanding and improving support programs for the incarcerated, the ex-offender and their families.
As stated on its FY2022 Form 990-EZ.
Program
Refined By Fire Ministries, Inc. (RBF) was established in 1989 having been founded by Michael, Elain and Arianne Ellerbe. The organization was incorporated in 1995 as a non-profit organization with an initial mission to provide religious programming in adult and juvenile corrections facilities. In the past 16 years, the organization has seen its mission expand to now encompass a focus on re-entry activities to include pre-release and post-release life skills educational programs for those offenders approaching release dates and returning to their families and communities in which they will, hopefully, rebuild their lives as well as providing resources and services to families of the incarcerated. The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2017 to 2018, from $38k to $20k (−48%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of REFINED BY FIRE MINISTRIES’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (100% for the typical peer).
