01What it does

What Redeemed for a Cause Outreach does

Mission

The exempt purpose is a community-based social service organization which primarily provides resources for victims of human trafficking and survivors of assault.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. The teen prevention program raises awareness of human trafficking through teaching young people to recognize the warning signs of human trafficking in their relationships, teach young people about recognizing signs of abusive relationships and applicable resources for help, develop a community through the youth-group activities where young people feel safe to express themselves and seek help when needed, and promote young people being safe by avoiding unsafe behaviors. In our teen prevention program, we run biweekly groups in the elementary, middle, and high schools with at-risk youth to discuss topics such as boundaries, effective communication, etc. where we have between 10-15 participants.

  2. The toiletry closets are an outlet for the girls and a safe space to unwind and just be. Also, it increases their ability to access menstrual hygiene products as well as toiletries. Statistics have shown that thousands of girls lack the resources to manage basic menstrual hygiene and are denied equal learning opportunities. Due to this, they often skip school or classes while having their period as a result. Our goal for the toiletry closet is to offer each teenage female student basic health products. Our toiletry closets are set up in the elementary, middle, and high schools, where the students have access to basic toiletry needs such as deodorants, shampoo, conditioner, etc. We restock the closets either biweekly or monthly depending on the school's needs.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.

1 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 77% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of REDEEMED FOR A CAUSE OUTREACH’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

REDEEMED FOR A CAUSE OUTREACH leans on a few funders — its largest provides 77% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

77% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund REDEEMED FOR A CAUSE OUTREACH.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Where its funders are

77% of REDEEMED FOR A CAUSE OUTREACH's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $2k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Pennsylvania funders.

PA

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $5k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
