What Red Emmas Education Fund does

Mission

Red emma's education fund offers education to baltimore community residents to engage in discussion of broad problems impacting their communities. Reef offers educational events and activities, free and open to the public, that are aligned with the values of baltimore's nascent cooperative economies community, with a focus on workplace democracy and social, economic, and racial justice. Our activities are designed to be events that bring people together to share knowledge, sharpen critiques, and co-imagine solutions. This is instruction offered to the public on subjects useful to the individual and beneficial to the community.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. During the year, the organization continued its commitment to community enrichment through two key free public programs. First, we sustained our ongoing series of public literary events, facilitated book discussions designed to foster dialogue, literacy, and cultural engagement. This program attracted diverse audiences and provided an accessible platform for community members to connect. Second, we delivered free public education programming aimed at broadening access to learning resources and supporting lifelong learning. These sessions were designed to engage participants of all ages and covered a variety of educational topics. Together, these programs reflect the organizations mission to provide inclusive, high- quality educational and cultural experiences at no cost to the public.
