01What it does

What Pygmalion Productions Inc does

Mission

Pygmalion strives to provide artists an opportunity, at no charge, to have their work publicly read (generally 3 plays & 2 readings a year), with an eye to eventual full production. Theatre is used as a means to find common expression between the play, the players and the audience.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Program services include theatrical productions and workshops which meet the organization's mission statement of giving voice and opportunity to to women in theatre. Generally, performances for a season consist of three mainstage productions and two "readings". "Readings" provide local actors, authors and playwrights a means to experiment with characters, scenes and plots. Revenues from ticket sales, combined with public donations and grants, provide funds for production expenses, with an eye towards raising public awareness and participation in the arts and other cultural activities. The aim is to select works which find common expression between the play, the players and the audience by examining experiences and issues facing women today and throughout history.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

95% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund PYGMALION PRODUCTIONS INC.
