01What it does

What North Plains Food Bank does

Mission

The North Plains Food Bank is committed to addressing the critical food needs of seniors and families in the area.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Our food assistance program served over 200 householdsapproximately 600 individualseach week, providing consistent access to food in a community without a grocery store. This number continues to grow, with an average of 5 new families (approximately 20 individuals) added each week. Through strong partnerships and community support, we distributed an average of 30,000 pounds of donated food each month. We operate using a grocery-style, free-choice model, allowing individuals and families to select foods that meet their needs, preferences, and cultural traditions. This approach ensures dignity, reduces waste, and empowers those we serve.
