What Newton Community Events Inc does
Mission
Newton community events is a 501(c)(3) whose purpose is to help encourage community events in jasper county.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
The sukup indycar race weekend july 11-13 2025 at iowa speedway newton consisted of double-header 275-lap ntt indycar series races on saturday july 12 and sunday july 13. There was a firestone indy nxt series race on saturday as well. Friday was slaged to be a free family day with practice laps by both series as well as driver autograph sessions. Unfortunately a violent thunderstorm accompanied by tornado warnings scuttled friday activities early. The weather the rest of the weeknend was favorable and all events were run as scheduled. Attendance was far below that of the three previous years indycar race weekends, mainly due to a lack of title sponsorship equivalent to that provided by hy-vee in 2022-2024 which made a-list music concerts and projected additional promotional expenditures financially infeasible for indycar and their partner organizations. Despite lower attendance there was still an estimated $40 million direct economic impact on iowa.
$575,438 spent$577,850 earned by the program80% of program spendingThe 2025 nascar cup series weekend at iowa speedway in newton was a three day event on august 1-3 and featured the tracks second annual iowa corn 350 nascar cup series race on sunday august 3. Tickets and hospitality for the cup race once again were sold out well in advance so the focus of our promotional push shifted to the two supporting events the nascar xfinity series race on saturday aug 2 and the arca menards series event on friday aug 1. Through effective cross-promotions with other local events and a focused primarily digital advertising strategy the nascar xfinity series event was also sold out before their race with a large appreciative crowd on hand for the friday arca event as well. The nascar cup series weekend was a tremendous boost for the local regional and state economies. With an estimated total economic impact of over $100 million, the city of newton, jasper county and surrounding areas saw hotels selling out and local businesses increased.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2022, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2022, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $6k to $6k (+9%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
