Field building - we build new global research ecosystems to tackle major challenges through interdisciplinary, computational science- and ai-driven collaboration - accelerating progress in emerging areas by convening researchers and running targeted research accelerators. In 2025, we launched mexa, a new research community exploring generative ai solutions that are ethical, evidence-based, and culturally informed, bringing together 700+ researchers, clinicians, technologists, ethicists, and lived-experience experts across 80 countries. We ran two hackathons for 250+ researchers across 46 interdisciplinary teams to advance early-stage ideas, and a research accelerator bringing together 40 interdisciplinary teams from 16 countries across 6 continents to co-create foundational research on generative ai for anxiety, depression, and psychosis.

In 2025, this includes: neuromatch academy teaching assistants, who provide teaching instruction for the academy while developing mentorship skills and deepening their own technical understanding; neuromatch academy mentors, who provide students with professional development support throughout the academy - offering guidance, connection, and opportunities that many students describe as the most meaningful part of their journey; and neuromatch impact scholars program, a six-month, part-time mentored research program for early-career computational scientists building on prior training to contribute to real-world impact.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2020, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2020, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $739k to $1.1M (+51%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2020 0% · 2021 0% · 2022 0% · 2023 23% · 2024 2% · 2025 2%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
22% of NEUROMATCH ACADEMY INC’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (48% for the typical peer).

From the IRS filings of NEUROMATCH ACADEMY INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
NEUROMATCH ACADEMY INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 55% of grant income and the top three 87%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
55% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund NEUROMATCH ACADEMY INC.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 100% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
