Mission

To serve nhla members in the north american hardwood lumber industry by: maintaining order, structure, and ethics in the hardwood marketplace; providing specialized member services unique to the hardwood industry; assuring sustainable and available saw timber to meet members' needs; building positive relationships within the hardwood community.

In addition, the association provides inspection services in order to ensure there is a uniform method of inspection and grading of hardwoods and settles disputes in the grading system.
