What Mountain Island Day Community Charter School does
Mission
Public, tuition-free charter school educating and nurturing the whole child. Along with scholastic endeavors, the School focuses on character, ethics, service, physical and emotional health in a creative and positive environment that enhances learning and growing.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Program
The tuition-free, public charter school enrolled 927 students at the beginning of the FY 25/26 school year in grades K through 12 compared to 884 students in the prior year. In April 2023, the State Board of Education approved a 7-year charter renewal for the School. The School operates within a "small school" environment organized around smaller, more personalized units of adults and students, giving students a better chance of being known and noticed. However, small schools are more than just small in size and function; they are formed around three core principles: academic rigor, personalized relationships, and relevance to the world of work.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $6.8M to $978k (−86%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2019 2% · 2020 1% · 2021 4% · 2022 13% · 2023 4% · 2024 3% · 2025 3%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
