01What it does

What Meows and Mutts Rescue does

Mission

We are an animal rescue who takes dogs and cats from high kill shelters, off the streets and owner surrenders and get them vetted and adopted and we transport them out of high volume areas to the northeast.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. We have save hundreds of animals from euthanasia from high kill shelters and after fully vetting those dogs and cats we find them loving homes or other rescues to go to so they can find homes for them.

  2. We work with a shelter in Maryland to transport cats that are in high kill shelters to their facility where they spay and neuter them and then they work through Petco to find them homes. On average we transport 30-40 crates of cats holding roughly 60 -80 cats each month through out the year.

  3. We work with local rescues to help transport animals that they have rescued to northern shelters and adopters. This frees up space to help more animals in the southern region.

The 3 programs described on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ. Program spending in total: $0.

02Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.

1 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 45% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Meows and Mutts Rescue’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

Meows and Mutts Rescue leans on a few funders — its largest provides 45% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

45% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund Meows and Mutts Rescue.
