01What it does

What Marianna Historic Trust does

Mission

(a) to work to save endangered historic buildings in downtown marianna, ar (b) to work toward the designation of an historic area of downtown marianna, ar as an historic district on the national register; (c) to preserve the historic and architectural character of marianna, ar through acquisition and restoration of historically or architecturally significant properties; (d) to educate the public about the history of marianna and about its architectural heritage.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. The trust currently owned seven buildings in downtown marianna, all of which are national register properties. Five of the buildings have been completely restored and were occupied by retail businesses; two of the buildings were sold in 2019. The renovations have not only restored historic properties, but have also positively affected the economic revitalization of our downtown historic district by creating jobs and traffic in downtown marianna. Expenditures during the year were those necessary to insure and maintain these buildings, including depreciation. Previously, the trust also issued a challenge to the community for donations to set up an endowment fund for the maintenance of the community house, which is a national register property owned by the city of marianna. The city lacks the funds to properly maintain this historic property, which is used by the entire community as a meeting/party facility. The fund has reached an endowment level of 12,000, with 7,000 coming from the public and 5,000 coming from a matching contribution from the Marianna Historic Trust.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of MARIANNA HISTORIC TRUST’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of MARIANNA HISTORIC TRUST's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $21k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
